This Privacy Policy describes how Seiz (“we”, “our”, or “us”) handles information in connection with the Seiz website (seiz.app) and the Seiz desktop application for macOS. This policy applies to both the website and the application, with distinct sections where their practices differ.

1. Website (seiz.app)

1.1 Information We Collect

Email Address — If you voluntarily sign up for our waitlist, we collect your email address. This is the only personal information we collect through the website. We do not require you to provide an email address to browse the website.

Analytics Data — We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data about how visitors interact with our website. This includes:

  • Page views and navigation patterns
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Core Web Vitals and page performance metrics
  • Country-level geographic data

This data is collected in aggregate form and does not include personally identifiable information. We do not track individual users, and no user profiles are created from this data.

1.2 How We Use Your Information

  • Waitlist email: Solely to notify you when Seiz becomes available or to send important product updates. We will not send marketing emails or newsletters unless you explicitly opt in.
  • Analytics data: To understand general website traffic patterns and improve website performance and user experience.

1.3 Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the website:

  • Vercel (vercel.com) — Website hosting, analytics, and performance monitoring. Vercel processes anonymous analytics data on our behalf. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
  • Supabase (supabase.com) — Database hosting for the waitlist. Stores only email addresses submitted through the waitlist form. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with any other third parties. These service providers are used solely to operate the website and are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.

1.4 Cookies

The Seiz website does not use cookies for advertising or user tracking. Vercel may use strictly necessary cookies for performance monitoring and security purposes. No third-party tracking cookies are present on this website.

2. Desktop Application (Seiz for macOS)

2.1 No Data Collection

The Seiz desktop application does not collect, transmit, or store any user data whatsoever. Specifically:

  • No analytics or telemetry. Seiz does not send any usage data, crash reports, or diagnostic information to us or any third party.
  • No internet connection required. Seiz does not connect to any server, API, or external service. The application functions entirely offline.
  • No cloud syncing. Your files, folders, settings, and preferences remain exclusively on your Mac and are never uploaded anywhere.
  • Local AI processing. All AI-powered features (smart rename, semantic search, batch grouping) run 100% on-device using local machine learning models. No data is sent to external AI services or cloud APIs.

Your files are your business. We have no access to them, and we never will.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing, advertising, or any commercial purpose. The only data processing that occurs is through the service providers listed in Section 1.3, strictly for website operations.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Waitlist emails are retained until the waitlist is no longer needed or until you request deletion, whichever comes first.
  • Analytics data is retained in aggregated, anonymous form by Vercel according to their data retention policies.

You may request deletion of your email address at any time by contacting us at hello@seiz.app. We will process your request within 30 days.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Objection — Object to the processing of your personal data.

6. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@seiz.app so we can delete it.

The Seiz website and desktop application are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Seiz and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use of or inability to use the website or application
  • Any errors, bugs, or inaccuracies in the software
  • Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • Any third-party conduct or content on the website

Your use of the Seiz website and desktop application is at your sole risk.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the website or application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
